Charles Lamar Family Foundation Shaw Center Subsidy Grant

The Charles Lamar Family Foundation Shaw Center Subsidy Grant provides funding assistance for organizations domiciled in East Baton Rouge Parish with 501(c)(3) nonprofit status (colleges, universities, public schools, and private schools are eligible to apply) to rent Shaw Center spaces for public arts and cultural events.

Available spaces include the Manship Theatre, Hartley/Vey Theatres, Fourth Floor River Terrace, and The Gallery at Manship Theatre. This grant is generously funded by the Charles Lamar Family Foundation. Applications are accepted throughout the year while funds are available, with a deadline of at least 2 months in advance of the proposed event(s). Grants will fund up to half of the official rental estimate for eligible events and programs, up to a maximum of $4,000.

Grant Opportunities Workshop June 2022

Beginning July 1, 2022, all Lamar grant applications and final reports will be received online through Submittable. Applications will no longer be accepted in hard copies or through the mail. 

Managing Your Grant

Grantees are required to display the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and Charles Lamar Family Foundation logos as well as the following credit statement: “This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Charles Lamar Family Foundation as administered through the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge.”


Final Report

Final Reports are due within 45 days of project completion. To access the Final Report, log in to your Submittable account and click on your Lamar grant application.
