Julio Naudin

Julio Naudin is a full-time artist who lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Originally from Mexico, Naudin spent the first half of his life on the border in the West Texas town of El Paso. He painted and drew his way through college at the University of Texas El Paso, in addition to being a advertising artist for the El Paso Times and The El Paso Herald Post. Upon graduation, he joined corporate America and worked as a marketing executive in the publishing industry for 34 years.

Naudin draws on a variety of sources for his art, including his Mexican heritage, his career in news/publishing, his childhood, as well as other places he's lived and worked, including Northern Nevada, Washington, D.C. and South Louisiana. He creates portraits, landscapes, collages and mixed-media pieces. He has gained a following for a series of portraits done on newspapers mounted on boards and his ongoing series of impressionistic chicken portraits and figurative paintings. His art is in both private and public collections. He accepts occasional commissions.

Mike Weary

Mike Weary is a life long, self taught artist from New Orleans, LA. He is a current resident artist at the Arts Council of Baton Rouge. At the age of six he began sketching portraits of his mother's coworkers during their lunch breaks. His primary education in art came from his mother, a former student of The NOCCA Institute. He attended Brother Martin High School in New Orleans. During this time he honed his drawing skills by creating many paintings, carvings and sketches. Afterwards, Mike studied fashion merchandising, fashion design, marketing, and art philosophy at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His signature is that he paints his works completely upside down from start to finish. He is also on the forefront of incorporating oil paintings with rust and patina. His work can be found in galleries, exhibitions, businesses and homes nationwide, predominantly across the Gulf Coast of the United States.
