Cary Saurage Community Arts Center

The Cary Saurage Community Arts Center is a 12,000+ square foot creative space for artists and arts organizations to meet, work, and create.  With a black box, recording studio, visual artists studios, exhibition gallery, conference rooms, and rooftop terrace, CSCAC is the first building of its kind in the region.

Cary Saurage is a native of Baton Rouge and a long time supporter of the arts not only in his home city, but across the world. In 1994, he established the Cary Saurage Fund at the Baton Rouge Area Foundation. Since that time, he has supported 37 local arts organizations, numerous individual professional artists and local museums. With Derek Gordon, former head of the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, he established the MICHAEL CRESPO VISUAL ARTS FELLOWSHIP AWARD, which provides annual recognition for local artists of note in this community. He established a similar scholarship at Louisiana State University for emerging visual artists. Cary believes that the Arts make life worth living. His philanthropy, enthusiasm and mentorship are a testament to this belief.
