  • West Baton Rogue Museum 845 North Jefferson Avenue Port Allen, LA, 70767 United States (map)

This month’s Historical Happy Hour does double duty as an opening for the art exhibit, “Evolution of the Revolution,” which will be on display at the West Baton Rouge Museum from May 18th to August 25th, 2024. This fascinating multi-media installation (presented by the California African American Museum, created by Surreal Box Cinema) features huge, colorful photos depicting key moments in Black history, and is the product of collaboration between photographers and set designers Lynn Rossi and Nichelle Evans. The exhibit will be open to the public during Historical Happy Hour.

This FREE event is open to the public. The band will be performing outdoors from the Juke Joint stage on the grounds of the West Baton Rouge Museum near 6th Street. All are invited to bring blankets, folding chairs, and refreshments to enjoy on the museum grounds.  In the event of inclement weather, the event will move indoors.
